A crop variety with genes altered to add traits such as pest resistance
How to use it
Choose seed by the rules of the market the crop will be sold into. A GM crop cannot be sold into a market that bans GMOs.
South African benchmark
South Africa grows GM maize, soya and cotton commercially.
Country notes
Zambia and Zimbabwe restrict GM crops, so seed must be non-GM there.
